Hey guys,

Just wanted to let everyone know that along with August, our Summer Specials are ending!

Well, more like changing... here's the lowdown.

Monday
Half off all appetizers! from 5p-10p, limit 1 per person.  And Kid's Eat Free with the purchase of any regular priced entree.  The free kids meal can only be from the kids menu and no coupons are allowed with this deal, just like before.

Tuesday
All gourmet pizzas $7.  Yes, we have raised the price by $1, but it's still an awesome deal!  A whole delicious pizza that doesn't taste like pizza-place-take-out-cardboard-nastiness for just $7 all day long!

Wednesday
You choose 2 for $6.
Same choices:
  • Small Mac n Cheese  (Best thing ever and the perfect amount!)
  • Soup of the day (Chili or French Onion add $1)
  • 1/2 Ham, Turkey, Beach Sandwich
  • Side Caesar Salad
  • Side CK Salad
Thursday
Any Large Salad $7

Get ready for the fine print:  All specials are Dine-In only and require the purchase of a beverage.  Other restrictions may apply.

Yay for new-ish specials!

And it's almost time for Oktoberfest!  All Oktoberfest Drafts are just $3.50 during the whole month of September.  Check back for my post comparing all the brands... coming soon!

For all you wine lovers out there,
we've got a new brand we're featuring... Apothic Red:  Winemaker's Blend
According to Apothic's website, this wine is:
"A captivating blend of three distinct grapes, with the dark fruit flavors of Syrah, brambly spice of Zinfandel, and a smooth elegance of Merlot.
Apothic Red reveals intense fruit aromas and flavors of rhubarb and black cherry that are complemented by hints of mocha, chocolate, brown spice and vanilla. The plush, velvety mouthfeel and smooth finish round out this intriguing, full-bodied red blend."
Find more information on this wine offering here.

Stop in and have a glass!

I always forget to mention that CK Diggs offers catering!  I usually eat at Ck Diggs, so I never think about carry out much either.  Imagine the awesome meals you order while you're here, and multiply the portions outrageously to get the best feast in the world!  Share the yumminess with all your friends and family.

If you find yourself hosting a party, throwing an office party or just needing to bring a dish to pass, think CK!  I recently had our cooks make me an antipasto salad for a graduation party I was having at my house...  With all the other food we prepared, it was so nice to have something that was already made and ready to eat!

Chris can go over all the details with you in house, on the phone or via email.  We can work with any budget, time frame, and we deliver large orders up to 20 miles!

Need serving/chaffing dishes?  Paper plates and cups?  Napkins?  Dressing?  Serving utensils?  We have those too!

Call for details!

So, I've been reading up on one of the beers we serve: Stella Artois.  I never really thought much about it, even though I've served it a million times and often hear it's great.  After finally giving it a try, I really like it.  It's a nice beer that tastes delicious and doesn't waste any time or effort trying to be overly fancy.  It's just a crisp refreshing beer.  Of course, that's just my opinion.

According to Beeradvocate, "the smell is very light, but consists of honey and mild grape notes," and Stella is "very drinkable."  Feel free to read more here.

This beer is served year-round, so you never have to worry about catching it during a certain season... we keep it stocked all the time!  Come in and try one if you get the chance.

p.s.-  I'm a little late, but did anyone see the first Lions game on Friday?  What a nice way to start out the season... well, pre-season.  Go Lions!

I know it's only pre-season, but the Lions destroyed the Bengals last night!  Can't wait for next week's game... hoping for a repeat.

Speaking of football, there's still time to have your Fantasy Draft at Diggs!

The best thing about Fridays is, of course, having a little mini-vacation from work!
But- in second place is our weekend deal on draft beer!
From 3p-7p on Friday and Saturday all draft beer is just $3.50! Come on in and start the weekend right!

...For those of you that work the weekends, take advantage of our Beers of the Month:  All Short's brews are just $3.50 all the time.  Yes, it's a little less of a selection from the 40 drafts on the weekends, but you still have three tasty choices:  Bellaire Brown, Pandemonium Pale Ale, and Soft Parade!

Hope to see you this weekend!

PS-  It's almost time for Oktoberfest, so check back to see which varieties we will be offering this September and October.

We've been working on re-vamping our website for the last few months and it's finally ready!  In my personal opinion, it's way more awesome than before.  If you have time, check it out here, or type www.ckdiggs.com into your browser.

New features allow you to view this blog and our Facebook and Twitter updates right from the site.  Also, if you would like to join our email list, just enter your email address into the site tool at the bottom right of the home page and you'll start getting emails to keep you up to date with everything we do!

We'd love some feedback on the new site... do you think it's awesome like I do?  Do you think it sucks?  Let us know!

Thanks,

Sten

I can't believe it's already August; seems like the summer is just flying by!

Like I said in the last post, we've changed our Beer of the Month offering to all the Short's brews.  This includes the following beers:
Bellaire Brown
Pandemonium Pale Ale
and Soft Parade

(My favorite is the Pandemonium, but I'll let you pick your winner.)
